Our Philosophy

We like to think of ourselves as luxury private villas with a difference. The two 3-bedroom Sungai Jungle Villas are designed to create the impression that guests are staying in a remarkable private residence. They have been born from a desire to offer the most exceptional hospitality experience for the most discerning travelers to Bali. One where the setting inspires, where the design respects and enhances the surroundings, and where there is genuine care for service, comfort, style, and attention to detail. The service begins the moment you step off the plane with the VIP airport butler service and the in-house chauffeured transfers.

Insightful Spoiling

Whilst the setting, facilities, and the many luxury inclusions are noteworthy, it is the staff that make the Sungai experience truly outstanding. The team is supported by our guest services manager, Made (pronounced Mah-day), who acts as your personal concierge and seamlessly alleviates you of planning and logistics. The team has genuine personal and professional service down to an art, and provides the perfect balance of friendliness, care, charm, and grace. At our luxury Jungle Villas, we aim to offer a guest experience that is intimate and discreet while providing the highest level of service, exceptional but not intrusive or invasive.

Your Experience

The unforgettable memories created by the Sungai experience are intertwined with the magic of the location, exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and simple but immaculately appointed guest rooms. Splendidly secluded, the Jungle Villas are set on the bank of a small river in the tiny village of Cepaka. You’re in the real Bali here. The feel of Ubud but with proximity to beachside Canggu and buzzing Seminyak. You have the sensation of sailing on the canopy of green which comforts you as you sink into an utterly relaxed state. Days at Sungai are punctuated with activity and regeneration, catching surf breaks on Canggu Beach, cycling through the traditional neighbouring villages, or pampering at our signature spa.

Eco Built and Designed

Guests of Sungai Jungle Villas can immerse themselves in an island escape cocooned in a tranquil, local style that exudes contemporary sophistication.

Merging contemporary architecture and modern comfort with authentic local influence these luxury private pool villas blend seamlessly into their environment, with no disruption to the rice paddy fields around. The use of locally sourced materials such as re-claimed teak wood, natural stones sourced throughout the archipelago, and traditional renewable alang alang roofing creates an authentic sense of destination. Something in a slightly different spirit, embedded into its local and cultural context.
